I don't know for sure if he was, but it's not that uncommon. I'm left-handed, but I play right-handed, and I've run across quite a few others that are the same.

I think Mark Knopfler is left-handed.

I'm left-handed but play right-handed as well. Definitely as good as Duane, too! HA

    Yes, he was.

Joe Perry and mark knopfler(whoops, already mentioned) were as well. I’m sure there are others.

I'm right handed however eat with my left hand. If I ever tried to use a knife with my left hand I would probably saw off my fingers. A fork is manageable in my left hand. Maybe Duane took the same approach.

I'm left handed and play normal left handed guitars :D

I truly do wish I would have learned to play right handed, given the added expense and much less variety of guitar options among many reasons.

I'm right handed but often eat with a fork in my left hand, especially if I'm using a knife at the same time.

But it's also true that not every left handed person plays guitar left handed. There are arguments about how the dominant hand is better used, but to a kid picking up a guitar it's just about how it feels to them. Or sometimes they're just taught to play right handed. Whatever the initial reason, once someone gets started it's rare for people to switch.

    Speaking of Duane Allman...
I collect antiques and old signs. At a garage sale. I came across an old metal sign directing to the "Castle Heights Military Academy" in Lebanon, Tennessee. A very prestigious school originally founded in 1902. I bought it for about $5.00 for my collection. I found out last week, that both Duane and Gregg Allman attended that school in the early 60's...

It looks just like this one...

The pic is possibly reversed but I don't think so, hard to see other clues, but a couple of the shirts seem to be buttoned the guy way though you can't see much of them. Too bad everyone had their hair parted in the middle!

Another mixed back here. I'm all over the place as far as dominant hand.

I’m right handed but I occasionally eat with my left hand. Hell I’ll occasionally bat lefty too.

Not saying he’s not just saying don’t most people use their fork with both hands?

Fork in left hand is proper dining etiquette. If you didn't know that, I'm sorry.

Yeah, my sister's guitar was my first, and it was right-handed. I tell lefties to learn righty, because in the beginning , it's going to feel foreign no matter what

Fork in the right hand is a weird American thing. He may have been taught proper table manners as a child and holds his fork in the correct hand
