I’m ok with subjective opinions. I think if there is a player I’d rather emulate it would be Duane. Gilmour was polish. Duane was pure fire.

They’re both in the category of “too good to matter.” You won’t find anyone better, just different flavors of greatness.

I’m still mad I never saw Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks together. That was a bad oversight on my part...

I was lucky enough to see the Allmans at The Saratoga Performing Arts Center sometime in July/August 2007.

What kind of idiot would refinish this and then ask a million? No reverence at all. Jeez.

    How much does it weigh?

Who cares how many stadiums PF sold out in the middle east or Asia? The guys bidding for these guitars are from the US. The grateful dead were a US band and Jerry's guitars went for top dollar at the time.

The Toler/Betts burst (can on heard Jessica, Live at Fillmore East and more) has been played at a couple of gigs in May this year in Europe by Joe Bonamassa. He said it has the best neck pickup sound of any guitar he ever played.
Yet, the Toler/Betts burst was up for sale last year and didn‘t reach the $150k limit.
So why would Duanes Goldtop reach 1 mio?

    Sure.

    True.

You'd think Jerry's guitars have more weight though, right?

Re: Page's burst being the most recognized guitar of all time....

What about EVH's Frankenstrat? I'd have to think that would sell for pretty high and be one of the most recognized guitars of all time.... although it's not a burst (Les Paul).

If he played only 1 frankestrat, and didn't constantly change the neck out, it'd be a different story.

99% of Page's career is that one burst.

But, his most known solo is a Tele?

All it takes is a couple multi-millionaires who want a certain piece to drive up the final price.

    The most expensive?
I'd go with McCartney's Hofner. THAT is probably the most valuable.

Personally I'd have to say the Red Special. One-off custom designed and handmade by the artist himself, used on 95% of their recorded discography, Live Aid, Wembley, Olympics, yadda yadda. Where would you even start with bidding?

That guitar doesn’t need this kind of exaggeration.

They’ve(LZ) got entire albums where that guitar isn’t even on 25% of it.

Not to pile on, but I'd say 99% of sunburst sales are Page related!

( ;) slight exaggeration, for effect)

That's one I haven't thought of..... you might be right.
Anyone knows who owns it now?

    Fake Paul McCartney.

I have wondered if he tours a replica.

I'm also including the touring, where he played that guitar most of the night. That output is far more than the albums.
But I'll lower my number to 90% if it helps.

I’ll take your word for it.
