DUMB Bogner Fish question for fellow owners/or an expert.

Okay, the presence knob.

Is it correctly functioning if the sound gets darker and noticeably quieter(like 20% lower output) as one turns the knob "up"/clockwise?

This seems to be opposite of what normal amps do. Plus, the volume normally shouldn't change.

Or does my unit have a cap that isn't functioning properly???

The presence on mine has no affect on the volume.

Try sending an email to Bogner and see if they tell you that mine is bad.

It is a rare early bogner multi channel guitar preamp I believe. So you use it in conjunction with a power amp and cab

I suppose so. Most refer to it as a pre-amp.

My Fish also works as yours in presence .
I think there is no problem with that .
This is not an ordinary preamp , right ?
Mr.Bogner designed it in his own way .

The volume seems going down but I think that why the high frequency gain cuts down . That's normal .

It sure is rare and lusted after though.

BTW, HD is definitely correct. Bogner got back to me.

Unit is working correctly, and kicking butt right now.
