There's an old show I hadn't seen until today. Some great guitar playing in there from Pete Anderson playing a gorgeous Esquire w. a double-bound black body.

    Some remarks:

    1. Holy cow, them jeans sure are tight!
    2. Great cover of Johnny Cash's Home of the Blues. A lot more upbeat than I have ever heard it played. Dwight's voice carried that song, and Pete's solo was very tasty, with some sweet harmonics, and even a couple of behind the nut bends.
    3. Behind the nut and tight jeans are two things that shouldn't be written so close one to the other ;)
    4. Pete Anderson picks w. a pick right over the bridge pickup to get those deep bass tones, then finger picks around the middle area of the pickguard to get some "bassier" tones. Great close ups of his technique.
    5. I'd love to build an Esquire like Pete's. Very classy look!

    Definitely worth watching!

I had the pleasure of meeting Dwight and the band back in 86 in Oklahoma City. I was doing a tour in the USAF there and they played at a local club. Now being from Seattle I wasn't a counrty music fan @ all. I left that night a fan of Dwight's and still am today. To be 3 feet from that tone for 3 hours that night in OKC was haunting. IMHO his best to date !!!!

Pete Anderson is a total badass, and a hell of a nice guy to boot. He's come through town twice playing in small clubs and loves to talk guitars, amps and music with anybody. He's got a ton of chops, but even more taste. I love his pedal steel with a slide imitation on that ACL video.

That's about one of the best things you can say about a guitar player imho...

I caught that episode back during my teenage metal-head years, and Pete 'n Dwight gained a new fan that night. Pete is a total monster, and I'm happy to say I got to see him play with Dwight several times over the years. I enjoyed it every time.
