Would anyone have a ballpark idea of what an approx value of an early 70's SG would be? A guys I work with got it for his 14th birthday back in 1972, and it's been sitting in it's case ever since. He said that it's in almost new condition, it's just been set us and has no neck issues or anything like that.

He's not looking to sell it, he just gave it to his 13 year old son.

    Any ideas?

This will give you some idea. If it is a really early 70's and in great shape it will be at the top of the scale for 70's guitars and maybe more to the right person....and tell your buddy's kid to check out the site so he will appreciate what he has.

It is a cool site. There are sites out there for alot of companies...some are yahoo goups and some are .com or .nets. Try google'ing whatever company you are looking for. I frequently go to the yahoo Traynor and Garnet amp sites and the EBMM site but I know there are Telecaster, PRS, Hamer, Suhr and others too.
