I've read every review I could find and there is not much on the TPG search. My question to any who has used or currently use the Talon would be, "Is the Talon gain different enough from a Timmy or a Barber 1/2 Gainer?" (current dirt pedals)

I have enough room for something like this, I have dabbled with some mini's and not so impressed with the quality of gain (Outlaw, Moore, Ibanez) they are ok, they just don't sound as sweet with my gig rig.

Thanks to any users and replies :D

Yes - the Talons is its own beast and an alt rock machine. It is super flexible eq-wise.

I owned one- I found it to be a bright sounding pedal. Rolling back Talons' tone control didn't help, with my rig- still too bright for my taste

LOL! I found it to be dark, and the gain was rich and spongey. Very different from Timmy (not sure about the Barber). -E

Listen to Jet Age Eric's words...

It's dark and the EQ is awesome!

One more thing, I find it very cooperative with other dirt pedals.

My pedal was so bright, it was unusable. I will never understand this, because I liked the demos so much, I was quick to buy a used one. I've easily owned 50 OD pedals in my life time, it wasn't my imagination. I will need to revisit the Talon's in the future, just cause I was baffled by how schrill mine was. For reference, I generally run a treble booster into any OD pedal I'm using. Also, for years, my preferred OD was an original script MXR Dist +
