Easiest way to put tab and classical notation into text editor?

Trying to write a method for lessons, but I discovered I'm dumb when it comes to text editors and stuff like that. I'm having a hard time trying to make it work. Has anyone had this problem? If possible, I'd like to use all free stuff, but if there's something that made it "really" easy, I'd spend some money on it.

Any ideas?

I use power tab <---- it's freeware and will do both at the same time. The interface will be tab.. yet the notation is displayed above it. It imports midi.. and many other functions as good and well.
