Just got one in the mail and there is no taper switch like the 250k model. I wish I'de known this upfront....never heard anyone say anything about it.

i flattened the sweep on my 25k jr by wiring a 15k resistor between the two hot lugs of the pot. if you look carefully at the circuitcard, you can see a few little thru-holes, 2 of which trace back to those 2 lugs. i just put the resistor in those.

    Jamison,
Yeah unfortunately, there is no taper switch.
    Walter,
Interesting comment. Does this help out quite a bit?

I'll let you know when I get done testing it all out. I bought the 25k to run with my RC Booster (which is at the rehearsal studio), so I haven't tried it with an "active" signal yet. Still, I have always assumed both models had the taper switch.

I have 2 EB vol pedals with the taper switches.
They do almost nothing!!! It is not worth the effort in my opinion.

I DO like the mod that was mentioned above.
I'll watch this thread to see if I can do a mod to my vol pedals
    to create a USEFUL curve.

Its not that the taper switch does nothing but its not extremely useful. Position one operates the pedal in a normal manner...from off through low vol through full open. Position two opens the pedal very minimally until the last third of the travel then you get a ton of volume. Ive read it was designed like that for pedal steel players who of course play seated and makes opearating the pedal easier. I only use the first position myself.

For volume swells, the taper switches are very different for me. Noticably two different ratios. I prefer the one with the big volume jump at the end. Didn't sound that great playing by youself, but in a live situation it was obvious why it exists, it just works better. The smoother taper just didn't stand out like I wanted. YMMV.

So I'm back with the 250k model and running an RC Booster in front. Works great and I prefer it to the 25k model.
