What can I say, Tripps did it again. Nothing against the Carbon Copy, but this in another league. I haven't had it very long, and I don't really suffer "honeymoon phase" anymore because I've been thru so much crap I'm now picky, and know pretty quickly if something is staying or going.

...and I have to tell you, do to it's simplicity, and the fact that I don't personally require tap, the El Capistan may be in trouble.

DISCLAIMER: the EC is still the end-all tape-sim delay, so far, in my book. The EP isn't really a tape-sim. But for what *I* want, which is:

-easy to use
-repeats blend in nicely
-can be set analog dark or digital bright
-has a nice modulation... a la DMM... that I can control the depth of OUTSIDE the box

...this thing is great. Kudos to George and Dunlop!

More testing is needed, but he's got a winner here.... I know the Supa is more a take on TAPE delay (with the wow and flutter controls), and I'll get that one too to check out, but the Echo-Puss is a big time winner in my book. Analog-like warmth, digital-like brightness, modulation or not, very simple = winner.

seems like an awesome delay, I may pick one up when they go back to a different graphic, the ed hardy look is too much for me

Thanks for the mini review, ruger9.

So the finish is the "limited edition" part, not the pedal, right? I may wait for the plain jane edition.

Yeah, just the graphics.. I see alot of guys not wanting the graphics... don't know why, I mean, I don't care either way, but they are kinda' cool... I've certainly owned uglier pedals in my day.

I got mine as well, I agree with pretty much everything.

Apart from two things... the modulation doesn't nearly get fast enough for my tastes, and I wish there was control over the clarity of the repeats. I can live with both, but I would have added that functionality.

Control over the tone of the repeats is a major plus.

This is replacing my TimeFactor - while it's cool and everything I only used it for two different delay times. I wasn't even using 3% of it's potential.

Didn't play through one, but listened as a buddy played through one today. Sounded damn good. The delay had a really nice character to it, and the modulation sounded really good. Seemed a bit more subtle than I was expecting, but sounded very nice. Graphics didn't look as cheesy in person as I expected, and it's smaller than the rest of the Way Huge line, which was cool. I'd be tempted if I wasn't already sold on waiting for the Supa Puss.

The other guitarist's eyes actually turned green during practice tonight, I thought that only happened in cartoons. :p The modulation sounds VERY good in a live band setting.

We need cliiiips!! =)

Are the delay and feedback knob big enough and are the pots easy enough to turn so you can control them with your foot? I love that about the big DMM..

Not really. Maybe, if you were barefoot and could use your big toe ;)

I'm still not set up to do clips... except thru the laptop mic = :barf
