What can I say, Tripps did it again. Nothing against the Carbon Copy, but this in another league. I haven't had it very long, and I don't really suffer "honeymoon phase" anymore because I've been thru so much crap I'm now picky, and know pretty quickly if something is staying or going.
...and I have to tell you, do to it's simplicity, and the fact that I don't personally require tap, the El Capistan may be in trouble.
DISCLAIMER: the EC is still the end-all tape-sim delay, so far, in my book. The EP isn't really a tape-sim. But for what *I* want, which is:
-easy to use
-repeats blend in nicely
-can be set analog dark or digital bright
-has a nice modulation... a la DMM... that I can control the depth of OUTSIDE the box
...this thing is great. Kudos to George and Dunlop!
More testing is needed, but he's got a winner here.... I know the Supa is more a take on TAPE delay (with the wow and flutter controls), and I'll get that one too to check out, but the Echo-Puss is a big time winner in my book. Analog-like warmth, digital-like brightness, modulation or not, very simple = winner.
