I've got an echolution 2 on the way and I want to take advantage of the footswitch. But I don't want to spend the money on one and it's a pretty large footswitch and real estate on my board is limited. I've got a small enclosure I could use but I'm wondering if anyone knows is it just two momentary switches? Normally open or closed? And I'm assuming tip to one switch ring to the other and sleeve is ground?

    Thanks for your help!

    This is easily doable.

I may be getting one of these and I will build my own footswitch when I do.

Look at the manual. It should tell you which functions are on the tip and which are on the ring.

    You need:

    2 momentary footswitches
these really only need to be spst, but it may be easier to find dpdt

    example: http://www.mammothelectronics.com/4SFS2PDT-MS-I-p/800-1017.htm

    1 enclosure

    example: http://www.mammothelectronics.com/4S1590A-p/500-1005.htm

    1 trs(aka stereo) 1/4" jack

    example: http://www.mammothelectronics.com/4SJK100S-p/610-1001.htm

The sleeve connection of the jack gets wired to the common(center) connection on one pole of both switches.

The tip gets wired to one switch and the ring to the other. Just wire them to the normally open contact on the same side of each switch that you wired the sleeve to.

FWIW, I don't think the price for their footswitch accessory is at all out of line. It is an easy diy job, though, if you have the right tools at hand.

So that's pretty much what I was thinking. But my main question was if it's normally open or normally closed. Because I have some spst momentary normally open switched I was thinking of using.

Yup tht would work. I emailed Ben from pigtronix and that's exactly what type of pedal he described.
