I just saw that guitar also in San Francisco Craigslist! Wasn't sure if it was for real, but the great market has nearly died. There are so many good deals right now that I don't know what to buy next!

it looks fake to me. something about the color of the back and the logo (even though it's too small to make out)

the shape of the headstock, and the fact that it seems to say "gibson" on the truss rod cover, make me say that it's a fake.

HE GOT A HOLD OF ME!!! THAT AXE IS AS GOOD AS MINE!! No, the pic's are not funky...

The price is $800 US,and the product is in very good conditions, the only problem is that I'm in UK London now,and I will remain here for another year,I have some business here, but this will not be a problem for our deal,if you really want to buy my item,I use a shipping company with full refund and with the shipping payed by me.
If you want to start the deal with me and this company ( AirCargo Express ) all you have to is to send me your details :
    First name :
    Last name :
    Address :
    City :
    Country :
    Zipp code :
I need the details exactly like i have requested , because i have to forward the email to AirCArgo company.
As soon as I have them I'll start the official procedure, and AirCargo will notify you about this.
You'll also receive important guidelines + instructions from them.
As soon as the package arrives, you will test the product and if it does not matches 100% to your expectations, you can return it in max. 5 days and you will get your money back from the company, and a tracking number so you can see at their web site where is the item and when it will be at your door.
If you have more questions please contact me by e-mail,I take in consideration only those buyers who are really interested in buying my item,to be sure that I don't waste my time with endless discussions.
I already have tones of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out.
    Thank you!!

I dont think so.:worried If a check is coming to you, its very likely a fraud and you'll be responsible for the 'bouncing' check. You wont know that until after you have sent them their "change".Thats the scam to sellers.

This may be a 'buyers' scam. The wording is VERY similar to the many attempts I have recently recieved!!!

Go easy michael.e, and take care!!!!

If something is too good......than something MAY BE very wrong.

I keep hearing about all the great deals now that the economy is tanking. I haven't seen any on my local CraigsList

In fact, I think people are asking more than the stuff is actually worth used. Maybe it's because there is a lot of first-time sellers needing money, but many new sellers are asking ridiculous prices for their stuff.

I'm actually looking to buy both a 70's Fender tube amp and an R8, but I haven't seen any kind of deals, much less a reasonable asking price.

Maybe it's just my area, and maybe the deals are on Ebay, which I do not use.

Sorry to buy it out from under you but the deal was too good. I already sent the money to him by western union.
He promised to throw in an original 1958 Les Paul Jr. for my troubles.

    SCAM

My buddy lost $500 on a laptop with this exact same scam on a laptop.

That company AirCargo company does exist. It is in name only and not affiliated with any shipping or examing of product for 5 days. My friend got scammed by this same guy and called the "holding company" they said that they have been used in this scam for months now.

I tried to warn him to never send anything western union, and he kept saying it was legit. The seller sent him a bogus tracking number and he immediately called aircargo and they informed him that he'd been scammed.
