Pretty different guitars...the EJ has a 12" radius with MJ frets, the 69 has 7.25 radius with vintage frets (unless it was a special order)....other things like different pickups, etc. Real hard to compare the two, it's like apples and oranges, the only real thing that's alike about them is that they're both Strats. (And I did have both guitars)

I'll agree that other artist guitars don't do it for me the EJ is a different story. Phenominally crafted guitar. Though I'd say get one in Candy Apple Red! My sunburst one is going to sit under my bed for 30 years and be sold. :)

    Thanks for the replies.
I've noticed that the 69 cs is set up for an extreme low action, so much so that picking very hard will cause excessive buzz on the next fret. I guess the originals were like this also. Is this part of what makes them desirable or is it a flaw in the design. I remember 1969 original strats and they were not considered the best built guitars back in the day. Any advice on how this low action enhances the peticular sound of this guitar???

If it's buzzing out, it's gonna need a setup. I'd guess that's not necessarily a design thing.

    Oh...and I'd get the EJ.

I'd get a CAR EJ. The CS '69 sounds very bright to me.

The EJ is great but I'd rather have the CS'69. Here I am drooling over one.

CS69. The EJ is great but CS is CS, and at least it should be a better grade instrument.. And if you're a Jimi fan...

the EJ strats are probably one of the best production line guitars that fender has done in a while. the store i work at has had 2. i sold the first one, and we just got in another...even lighter and more resonant that the first...its scary.

get one...you wont be able to put it down...

    69 man! I hate strats and even I'd like a 69. Come on...Jimi! :JAM

I just think the small headstocks look dorky. But I guess you could argue the large look melty-goofy.

I have a 69 relic that has medium jumbo frets. I had three EJ's at different times and the 69 always ended up being the keeper and sounded better than the EJ's. But my buddy liked the EJ more. It's really down to what you prefer. They are both killer axes.
