Wanting to go for one. But which one? Tap is a must. Love the sound of the El Cap. The options of the other two are captivating as well. Can I get some recommendations?

    Get the VMSD instead.

The Superdelay is awesome. I used one for 3 years and loved it. (Switched to Strymon TimeLine.)

But I constantly hear good things about the ElCap. One dealbreaker for me is that tap tempo dropout and another is it only having the one preset... but if my delay needs were simpler, I'm sure I'd love it.

    No experience with the ML.

I sold my Superdelay and got an El Cap. Sometimes I miss some of the extra sounds the Superdelay had, but I never really used them unless I was messing around on my own.

My vote would be el cap between those 3.

though I've never owned a VMSD (a friend has and I have tried it), it is probably the most versatile among the 3.

but it really depends on what you need, though.

if you want great tape sounds, El Cap ...
if you want great analog sounds, ML ...
if you want a cross between the two, VMSD ...

Hi-cut and tweaked modulation on the tape sub-modes. I actually switched back to the standard. That eq stuff was okay at home, but I didn't like it live... and the modulation adjustments were really annoying IMO. There's a video on my YouTube somewhere that compares the two. Link in sig.

I would vote for the El Cap. I have never tried the ML, but I would
Love to. I own an El Cap and used to own a sd. The sd sounded nice, but was way to noisy. The El Cap is amazing, and no extra noise.

Noisy? Really? I've had 4 of them and wouldn't ever have thought describe one as noisy.

The one I owned added a TON of white noise. Maybe it was defective, but that was my experience.

    superdelay. most versatile by far.
and since tap is a major decision point for you, the el cap will let you down.

I've owned both the Memory Land (1 and 2) and VMSD. I still have the VMSD because it's a more versatile delay in my opinion. I have no idea about the El Cap, but the VMSD produces gorgeous repeats in every conceivable shade. I love mine.
