Alrighty, so my recent project in making my own soldered cables has stoked the flames for me to get a better understanding of the workings of my gear as a whole. I'm starting to think that I might have to go right back to basics when it comes to electronics because I haven't studied it at all since one course way back in high school. I have little to no understanding of what the difference is between a transistor, resistor, capacitor, etc. and I'm on a mission to dispel the ignorance.
Would you all suggest a basic course in electronics? Maybe something more particular to musical equipment in general? Is there a good online resource or guide? Is there a decent book out there I could buy? I don't want to spend $100 on the Electronics for Guitarists book, and have got to imagine there are other resources. With all the builders that frequent this forum, not to mention all you other gearheads, I thought there might be some great opinions and guidance when it comes to this topic.
Thanks for your help!
