I come back to this one A LOT. Get ready for the 1:08 minute mark, when he opens the pipes for the third verse. Unreal. So powerful and DEEP sounding--the richness! Goosebumps every time. RIP King!
It's Saturday morning you numpty.
I'm a little apprehensive about writing this, but there's always some time for Elvis. Although he was a very strange cat. I saw him from across a street in the mid-sixties. I remember him from TV when he got back from the army (thus the inspiration for the image in my profile, 1961). Even the big, fat, bloated Elvis had his moments. You don't need a lot of him, but some every once in a while works.
I still have some Elvis 78s
I watched That's the Way it is this morning. I love it all, but I've been in a circa '70/'72 phase for a while now.
We used to kinda merge All Shook Up with Jail House Rock.
That's funny because my band is doing the same thing but the other way around.
Yeah basically making it easier to dance to rhythmically.
Yeah... I sing all shook up the same style as Jailhouse Rock - more aggressive and fiery.
At the end we jam out over the chorus chords of all Shook Up ala Ry Cooders outro in his take on the song.
It's coming along great IMO.
One of the ones I can't wait to do at gigs.
Crowd loved Mr. Postman too, if you have the backup vocals.
Kinks, You Really Got Me, Ramones style.
Never a bad time for the king!
Oh man that some sick sh!t baby!
He was great at picking just the right songs to cover.
What a voice
It's still Friday here in the Central time zone......
