Any love for the V12's? Comparisons to other speakers, etc?

I like them. I've got one in a Boogie studio caliber. Not really sure what it compares to. I've heard people compare it to the Celestion V-30, but it doesn't have that spikey upper mid thing happening.

Compared to V30's, I LOVE them. I heard a Soldano cab that had these loaded, and it sounded great at all volumes...

+1 on the 'no spikey mids' thing. More open, less nasal to me.

They're great speakers, particularly for medium to higher gain tones. They're esp. good in a 1X12 open back configuration, with a 4210 or 4203 Marshall or with 80's/90's era Laney amps-they cut out the high end fizz on higher preamp settings, and give these amps a lot more low/low mid presence,IMHO.

The are middy but not sharp in any frequencies.I`ve used 2 in 4X12 Recto OS cabinet.Good companion to Vintage 30.

Cool. They sounds close to a V30 but with less highs in that clip. I thought they sounded close to V30s when I first heard them - like a more refined V30. I wonder what speaker would be a good mix with a V12 in a 2x12. I have V30s and Private Jacks I could mess with I guess. But in this cab they definitely sound good enough not to have to mess with it. :)
