Eminence V12's?

    Any love for the V12's? Comparisons to other speakers, etc?

    I like them. I've got one in a Boogie studio caliber. Not really sure what it compares to. I've heard people compare it to the Celestion V-30, but it doesn't have that spikey upper mid thing happening.

    Compared to V30's, I LOVE them. I heard a Soldano cab that had these loaded, and it sounded great at all volumes...

    +1 on the 'no spikey mids' thing. More open, less nasal to me.

    Yeah they are great speakers. great with a brightish amp (no pun intended):dude

    They're great speakers,particularly for medium to higher gain tones.They're esp. good in a 1X12 open back configuration,with a 4210 or 4203 Marshall or with 80's/90's era Laney amps-they cut out the high end fizz on higher preamp settings,and give these amps a lot more low/low mid presence,IMHO.

    The are middy but not sharp in any frequencies.I`ve used 2 in 4X12 Recto OS cabinet.Good companion to Vintage 30.

    Cool. They sounds close to a V30 but with less highs in that clip. I thought they sounded close to V30s when I first heard them - like a more refined V30. I wonder what speaker would be a good mix with a V12 in a 2x12. I have V30s and Private Jacks I could mess with I guess. But in this cab they definitely sound good enough not to have to mess with it. :)
