I'm making another glorified bypass strip for one of my boards and I want to get away from using the Hammond 1411 type enclosures. Here's my problems with the 1411 series:

*The sheet metal is too thin.
    *They are too tall.
*I'd like the top and back surfaces (switches and I/O jacks) to not be on separate halves of the open enclosure. Easier to build/service that way.

So what else is available that doesn't have those problems?

The enclosures at http://www.roadrageprogear.com look perfect, but they only sell an entire kit, as far as the strip-types go.

Did you try to email them?
Maybe they will sell you just the enclosure.

Thanks. Yes, I did. Pending a response now. I'm hoping they will let one go and not consider it a "trademark" or something. I'd rather not buy the whole kit.

Any other sources for something similar or a "long and thin" Hammond 1590 type?
