ENGL for warm lead? Artist edition sounds killer

Anyone tried this amp? What’s the verdict? Not a metal player but love a warm high gain amp.

The E651 artist is awesome. A friend has one. We’ve had that amp and a Metroplex in the same room and the Artist could hang with the Metro. Maybe not as Plexi inspired but not wholly out of place.

It sound like it’s a pretty fat midrangey amp. Is it bright or fizzy up top? I have the Plexi thing coveredx10, Was wondering if it could have as much or more gain and be round and not super bright.

Not super bright or fizzy to be honest. Been while since I’ve jammed with that dude but it’s a cool amp for sure.
