Just noticed this thread, and so thought I'd belatedly follow etiquette after several months on here. (Ooops. Bl**dy English eh? No manners ....) Thanks already to TGP for steering me to a much improved stompbox set up, and some handy hints and tips on other aspects of guitarness. I now have chronic GAS and guitar-related OCD, but I have only myself to blame. I currently play in a jazz band, playing souped-up versions of old 30-50s material (Paper Moon, Nightingale in Berkeley Square, Let There Be Love), and in a general covers band playing 60s/70s rock for a local charity that helps young adults with special needs. I'm proud to say we've raised £40K to date for them, which has helped them get a new custom-building open about a month ago. I've played for 30 years, originally as a sessioneer after leaving University, but more for pleasure/the challenge since then. Musical heroes would be (randomly trying to list a few): Bill Frisell, Leni Stern, Steve Masakowski, Robben Ford, Emily Remler, Bill Nelson, Larry Carlton, Danny Gatton, Antonio Forcione, Dave Stryker ... and Billy Strayhorn to write the tunes for them OK, the gear list. Although I may have my overdrive/distrotion pedal OCD under better control then some contributors! ;-) Thanks to all who've provided helpful responses to questions so far, and who will no doubt do so in future.
