epi won't stay in tune

    help plse. epi les paul custom, upgraded with emg's, sprerzel locking and all les paul hardware in bridge.

    but won't stay in tune, confirmed that i am installing strings right, full set up by pro and graphite in nut.

    I luv the sound but won't stay in tune. should i give up?

    What gauge strings are you using? Just a thought - the lighter ones are gonna be harder to keep in tune.

    Also - try stretching each string as you tune....what I do - is slacken each string a little, give it a tug, then tune UP to the note. It may sound stupid (and I apologize if it's obvious) but it works for me.

    thanks, I do stretch but I will try it your way. who knows.
    also, i use 10s but i have heard that heavier strings might help so i will try 11. it won't hurt my style of playing to have the heavier strings anyway.

    Yes, do this.

    It becomes second nature and it works provided that you have well set up guitar.
