awesome! Need to crank that sucker up and post some sound clips.
What inspired this purchase was an experience playing a fellow TGP'ers Bludodrive. That Bludodrive was the best sounding D-style amp I had played up until that point...very impressive. I'm not here to take anything away from Brandon's amps at Bludotone but if you ever have the desire to chase the Dumble thing you really should at least consider putting Jelle at the top of your list. I couldn't swing the wait list or markup of a Bludodrive, and Jelle was fantastic throughout this process. He spent hours on the phone with me discussing voicing options and exchanged several dozens of emails/texts keeping in touch with me throughout the process. If "that sound" is your thing...this is the pinnacle sports fans...It doesn't get any better than this, only different.
Ooohhhh YEAH!!! That's gorgeous!
I even love the cabinet!! Is that a 2x12?
Will do! I got the cranked part out of the way, lol! The specs on this bad boy:
Welagen Overdrive Reverb "Skyline Clear" voicing
120w via 4x EL34s
3-tube reverb with send/return
Passive effects loop
Post OD reverb
FET, PAB, on/off Reverb footswitch
Higher Gain range on the overdrive
Beefed-up low mids
Open top end (musicman 700v)
With a Strat, you get the sweetest clean tones I've ever heard in an amp. Huge bell-like chime with a fast responsive attack. Kick in the FET boost and you'll be in SRV territory. The reverb is so lush that it's criminal! It's like your tone is swimming in a beautiful shimmering glow...by far the most usable reverb I've ever experienced. With my 335 or Les Paul you get this beautiful clean feedback tone that is just wild! The gain channel takes off where the clean leaves off...very open and natural. Your guitar sounds like it should; a Strat sounds like a Strat, a Les Paul like a Les Paul etc. My amp is definately NOT a fusion mush box, this puppy is a gut-punching harmonically-rich monster! Sounds to me like a great old Twin Reverb that has been hit by harmonic lightning bolt, then doused in gasoline! Hats off to you Jelle, you delivered what you promised me!
Fulton Webb 2x12 w/ Celestion Classic Lead 80s. Guitar Center used: $400. The dummies didn't know what they had! I think this amp is better suited for an open-back can with either g12-65s or EVs. Almost too much gut punching power with a closed back cab lol!
FWIW, I was on the fence about getting a Steel String Singer vs the Overdrive Reverb. This voicing of the Overdrive Reverb gives me everything I could have asked for from a SSS platform (heck it's 120w for crying out loud) PLUS a jaw dropping overdrive channel! I just got off the phone with Jelle and told him that I feel as though this is his best overall model. You get 4 killer channels essentially plus the best reverb I've ever heard. That said, I may have to get a SSS in the future JUST CUZ JELLE IS A WIZARD.
What an unbelievable steal!! Can't wait to hear some clips of this amp, Jelle does terrific work.
I can't see pics... like they are broken.

They look mighty fine from my end.
Too cool. Congrats on receiving your new Welagen. Looks amazing.
Thanks! As a Strat guy, I think it'll be right up your alley. I'll hopefully knock some clips out this weekend.
Very cool. Congrats!!!
All good now!! Congrats bro. When is the next Tampa amp show??? Lol I'll be early and bring an amp....

How are the clips coming along? Can't wait to hear this beast. Congratulations on your EPIC new amp!
Wow Nice looking rig there mi amigo. That cab and head sure look good.
I bet it sounds better than it looks too. Enjoy them.
Not yet. The amp is really starting to burn in and open up. It was somewhat brighter and stiffer when I fired it up for the first time. It's really starting to sing like a bird now with thick low-mids. I replaced V.1 with my last NOS RCA 12AX7 which REALLY added something special. Still getting to know the amp and working it in, I'll share some clips when I have more time.
Serial # 003 baby, very cool. All I can say is that you'll never see this amp in the emporium. It's a "lifer" for sure.
