I went to my local GC at lunch today and played a blonde Epi Casino. I've always had a thing for these guitars but, from the ones I've played, there are definitely good ones and less-than-good ones out there. This one played well, though it had a loud buzz when the neck pickup is on (no buzz at all with the bridge pickup).

So, the question: on the back of the headstock, at the heel, there was a circular logo indicating "Limited Edition - Custom Shop" I've never seen this before. The serial number of this guitar starts with EE.. The price is roughly the same as non-Elitist models, but maybe that's a mistake by GC. Anyone have seen or have any experience with these Limited Edition Custom Shop Epis?

bump for any insights, or suggestions about forums that may have more Epi-centric traffic.

Might be one of the US made ones. Whenever Epiphone comes out with a model, there usually are a few US ones made that I believe are like prototypes, before the offshore production starts. Look inside to see if it says Made In USA (or on the back of the headstock). I've seen US made Casinos, Rivieras, and Sheratons.

Thanks -- I'll take another look at it to see where it was made.

EE specifies a Chinese factory I believe, I don't remember all the codes.

The limited/custom thing just means they're made by the same people in the same plant with a small sticker on the back.
