    Hey all

I found a very nice used 335 Epi Elitest in a local store. S/N is T403127.

I've discovered that means it's a 2004, made in the Japanese Terada factory.

Does anyone know how/where to further explore exactly what model this guitar is, what pickups it had originally, and what a fair purchase price might be? I have a lightweight Gibson bridge, tailpiece & some Lollars sitting on the bench looking for a new home and I'm wondering if this might be it.

    Thanks in advance...

I had one and at the time I was able to search a bunch of info in the web. Everyone knows the quality of the Tejada plant which was greatly in charge of building the Elitist Series for Gibson. If u don't care about the Epi logo, they are fantastic values and carry superb tone. Depending how much u are paying for it and how bad you want a 335 it's a true contender in the 335 market.

I had one as well. It was a great guitar. Extremely well made. The pickups were moderate output with alnico magnets. It had small pots and installing full size pots was tough- they just fit through the passage between the bridge pickup route and the control cavity.

Keep in mind installing a Gibson bridge and tailpiece- the Epi's bridge posts are 4mm threads (slightly larger than a Gibson's) and the tailpiece studs are 8mm threads.

In the end, I sold the guitar because I found the neck and frets to be smaller than I liked.

Thanks for the informative responses, particularly regarding the bridge and tailpiece, Don.

Is there a website that I can use to confirm the model using its serial #?

Did the Terada factory only make 'Dot' 335s in 2004?

It's good, and you should buy it..!

I'd spend up to $1,000 US depending on condition.
