I saw Eric this week at the Viper Room. He was devastating. I've never seen that much energy come from one human being, continuously for several hours. He's a master musician and a great entertainer. Good chunky base of post-Hendrix bluesey rock aggression, with a dose of Eric J. and a a big old helping of James Brown and Motown, all laid into crushing funky grooves. I'll never miss him again when he plays L.A.

His band is great and included a guest appearance by Rafael Saddiq playing Fender Bass for a CRUSHING cover of the Stone's Miss You. Eric wrapped up the night with a Voodoo Chile slight return, medley which included Kashmir, and a bit of Back in Black, and a touch of Fur Elise by Ludwig Van Beefreakinthoven. So he covered some territory right there. I loved it, so did Leon C. and a few folks we know who attended. Hair on arms and neck was raised, repeatedly, and that's the ticket.

Yeah He's really good! I wonder why He never just switched the strings around? I'm guessing no instruction, and then no turning back.

There is a video on U tube with Shawn Lane and Eric G. playing together and Eric hangs right there with Shawn as far as guitar goes.

Eric is like a walking musical compendium. You can here so many references to other players and styles but he is still a very individualistic player.

    Awesome talent.
