Where did you order it from? How much are they going for? Please report back on how it sounds.

Avatar speakers. I rather not post the price. I think its a short introductory price, Call them you will be happy.
After talking to the tech at eminence It sounds like this is going to be a killer speaker.

So I read on the Eric Johnson forum that Eric is currently touring with them in his Marshall cabs. How different will these sound from say a Scumback M75 speakers with a Plexi? I know they are very different speakers but I'm just surprised to hear Eric is using them with his Plexi.

Maybe Tomo can jump in here. I watched a video of him playing with Eric Gales and he was using the EJ speaker. I'm curious how this would sound with both my Plexi and my Two Rock Classic Reverb.

Is there anyone on this forum that got a chance to hear these in person at NAMM?

How would you characterize this speaker tonally?

I'm looking to fit something between a Celestion Blue and a Cannabis Rex... so I guess that would be something that emphasizes the high mids....

To my surprise while eating supper tonight, the door bell rings with the sound of the UPS truck driving away
The speaker is here and will put in my Clark Beaufort this weekend.
I will also jump it over to my Oldfield D'Lux to see how it's sound with Blackface as well
I have not been this excited about a speaker in awhile

I'd really like to see it compared to a Celestion Gold in particular.

Right out of the box it sounds awesome almost like broken in already. Not a harsh tone on this speaker. To me nothing like a Blue, thank God.
Hard to explain but guys around original Jensen type will know. It has elements of a Original P12R, Q and N with a old soul. Its like they where all rolled together but with more! I think the paper voice coil former is some of the secret sauce
This speaker is loud and wonderfully happy in the Beaufort. I think A lot of tweed, and Old Marshall guys will love this thing.

I was looking at some of the spec's.....do you find that it's pretty warm sounding?
Does it compress early or late?

Thoughts on how this might sound in a Bassman-type amp?

Its awarm but balanced speaker/ when you bring the treble on the guitar up the bass stays there in a nice old Jensen way. It compresses late but always has this woody touch sensitive bloom
This is a perfect 5E3 speaker/ I could also hear this being great in a tweed twin

I'm interested in how it sounds with your blackface style amp. Please give some comparisons of it's sound to other speakers.
