    Eric demonstrates different tones through it. Pretty cool. He talks about even frequency response, late 50's american speakers/late 60's British speakers, etc.

    That he plays through the speaker is very cool. I want one!

    Very intriguing. I would like to hear it in super clean mode though...

    Sounded farty and fizzy in the low end notes. Need another video to see how it sounds very clean. Yea, I hope Lance K. demo's it, too.

    Here's another video, from the NAMM, with Josh Smith playing through one (new PRS amp head) for a little bit:

    that fuzz tone is perfect. i could watch him play unaccompanied improvisations all day.
    i'd like to have 2x12 with these, but $300 each is a bit much for me.

    Eric Johnson is simply one of the best. Tone, chord construction, phrasing. The guy has it all!

    I have to say I don't like his overdriven tone. Muddy as hell, to my ears. Great player, though.

    The reason it sounds like that is because he is trying to emulate that 60s fuzz. Listen to his overdriven tone in the late 80s early 90s it sounds much better.

    Id like to know what amp he's plugged into, as well as what he is using for EFX (or better yet, turn off the massive reverb when trying to show us samples of the magic speaker sound?)

    There's lots of moving parts/variables in play here. How much of what we are hearing can be credited to the speaker???????? Tell the truth, this demo did nothing to get me in line to buy one...YMMV

    That's called a vintage Fuzz Face. Remember, his gear and technique are creating that tone. And the speaker is reproducing exactly the tone he wants. It may not work for everyone, but that tone is has low-end and it sounds nicely compressed.

    Talking about gear as it effects sound in performance for each individual is like dancing about architecture! Paraphrasing Frank Zappa here. LOL

    bingo! that's a tremendous & irreplaceable part of whatall makes eric a truly great player:
    the clear presence of his unique voice on the instrument.

    Please report back when you crank them up through some VHT/Fryette combination - I'll be eager to hear the beautifully, twisted results :D

    False advertising, no speaker will make me sound like that! Wouldn't mind trying one.

    please don't hate me if you discover i'm playing some bent country music;
    seems i'm on some kinda phreaking old kick, here.
    i will forewarn you, now, though,
    of the possible appearance of animated, non-parallel polytonalities.

    true!
    and, it shouldn't, anyways;
    that would be way beside the (musical) point of you, getting your sound.
