Did anyone buy a white-blonde one?

I see a handful for sale every now & then & almost all of them are red or black, with the occassional sunburst...but NEVER a white one.

    Just curious......

p.s. the white is my personal favorite :D

I've got a white one, but she's getting pretty banged up. I actually can't wait till she starts to look like an old wrinkly hag.

I bought the white blonde model. I tried the others at that particular store, but it clearly had better tone. Strats seem to be hit or miss, and the blonde was just absolutely stellar compared to the others. So I bought it for the tone, not the color. I actually preferred the red one initially, but the blonde one has grown on me lots.

I love how the grain comes through on the blonds.

The neck color seems a bit too orange but it's because of the lighting.

    I like blondes :dude

Is the finish thinner on the blondes or was this just the "better" guitar for you?

I've been jonesing for a blonde EJ since they came out, but I'd like to play one before buying it..and I haven't come across one yet.

MaybeI'll try Musicians Friend's liberal return policy  :BEER

When I first saw the blonde EJ, I thought that that's what a Strat should look like.

beautiful guitar...saw one at lunch today..

as much as I love the way they look, I cant get around the excessively taught strings. I mean the tension is so up there it makes bending a chore. Maybe taking out two springs could do it...Otherwise it is a really nice guitar that I would love to own..especially in white..

Taking springs out won't change the string tension (assuming you're still tuning to the same pitch). The tension is a result of the combination of:
    string diameter
    string length
    string pitch

Removing springs only lowers the amount of downward pressure required to work the tremolo arm. Yes, it also temporarily lowers the tension on the strings, but when you tune them back up the pitch they return to their original static tension. To lower the tension at a given pitch, you have to either shorten the scale or reduce the string diameter.
