Gawd. This kills me. Every single time. One of the very few guitarists who can transcend 240p. ;)

Beautiful stuff. I remember working on one of the lessons in Total Guitar, for an entire year.
I wish I could play rhythm guitar like that. But He makes me sound like I'm still in kindergarten.
Maybe that's why I'm not a big fan of his solo tone..
    I'm mean I gotta find something.. ;)

That video in the OP was my largest eye-opener ever for me.

I can still remember putting the video in the VCR and how floored I was with what I heard.

When I saw EJ on ACL back in the early 90's, (by accident, I had no idea who he was) my concept of guitar changed. There are faster shredders out there, and more technical jazzers, but no one before or since whose playing and tone speaks to me like his.

I bought his VHS lesson as soon as it came out. Incredible stuff.
I stole a bunch of licks from him.

My entire style is rooted in everything I've stolen from everyone since 1970!

If there was a law against stealing licks, I'd be serving life in prison. :facepalm

He's the link between playing fast and playing fast with real old school feel, which was lacking in the shredder genre. Not that he's a shredder, but you get my drift.

    We all would.
I meant directly from his VHS lesson video that's in the OP.
