    hey guys...

just checking if anyone has one of these EBMM Family reserve guitars?

are they worth the price tag??

some of them *petrucci's?* have a glossy neck...the one thing that I love on ernie balls are their necks and the feel...does the new gloss affect that?

Post pics and or reviews !! :D

p.s. - not sure if this belongs in the small luthier thread? :Spank

I checked out a BFR JP at the local GC a while back and it was absolutely stunning.
The new JP's have a mahogany neck so thats why they are finished.
If it had a fatter carve on the neck like my Super Sport, it would have came home with me.

They are wonderful instruments. A good friend of mine as a petrucci BFR and I've played one of petrucci's personal instruments, and they're all stunning. The finish on the neck isn't a problem at all, they're very smooth and easy to play, and the tone is so fat and warm. I think they're worth the cost.

is the neck on the petrucci the same as the old models?

the thing I love about Musicmans are the necks...specially on the luke and petruccis *drool* :D

mahog neck, alder body, and maple top...interesting combo
