I am looking to convert my Ernie Ball VP Jr to an expression pedal by replacing the 25k audio taper potentiometer with a 100k linear taper potentiometer. Anyone know where I can source such a replacement?

As I understand it the pot has to have a longer shaft such that it can hook in to the pulley mechanism.

Great stuff. Thanks. I also just found this:

The shaft is too long but that shouldn't matter I don't imagine?

Trust me, buy an expression pedal. Trying to get the string back on the pot is no easy feat. I'm normally a pretty tame (and not foul mouthed) person but replacing the broken pot on my first eb jr had me cussing like a sailor in a fit of rage.

There is a YouTube video eb put out that tries to play like its so easy. Most of the comments are pretty derogatory as eb's video used a pedal that had the sides cut off making it much easier. If you have hands the size of a 3year old with a surgeon's precision then it might be worth it.

If the audio taper won't bother you much you can turn the eb jr or most any other volume pedal into an expression pedal with an inexpensive cable. http://www.strymon.net/2011/10/10/strymon-tech-corner-3-volume-pedal-as-an-expression-pedal/
