Wow, that was amazing. That's the stuff I wish I could play. No overdrive needed...

They are my favorite guitars and I used to play both for many, many years. Unfortunately medical bills required me to sell all my best guitars, although I've had an MIM Strat recently that I enjoyed. I mostly play acoustic now, but I am in hopes of being able to afford a nice Strat and someday a 335 again.....that is probably out of the question but I might manage with a 335 clone of some sort. I fell in love with the sound of a 335 and got mine in 1979. I need one. Your playing helps remind me why.
If you ever play in the Houston area, let me know. If it is in a smoke free area (I have lung disease) I will be there.

    Ah Tomo,

    Wow !

Absolutely Beautiful, tasteful, dynamic and with a wonderful touch and tone!

To play slowly like this with no backing and yet make it sound so good is so difficult. Amazing. Thanks for posting

Thank you so much for your kind words. I love clean tone more than od tone.

David T Walker style and I sort of mix ...Joe Pass.. I can't help it. Joe is in my blood.

You know "What's going on?" Listen to Donny Hathaway "Live"
Willie Weeks on bass & Fred White on Drums. My favorite record all the time.

Key is just plug your guitar in and play... This helps when you at jam session.

Thanks for writing. Sorry to hear your health. Please keep your passion on playing guitar. I used to play ES335 back in Japan.. then I came to U.S.with just one guitar (strat).. it was hard to get warmer tone from strat...but I tried to get good tone from my strat as if I was playing ES335..Hope you can enjoy playing start. It is possible to get good tone from your heart... from YOU. Email me your address. I would like to send something for you.

Hope to see you at Houston.

    Hi Woody,

Thank you so much for your kind words. I have another clip like this with my 335. I love good clean tone more than overdrive tone. It's tough to get really pure and dynamic...but when you get it ... it's pleasure to play it too. I admire people like Ronnie Earl or Duke... those guy never use any pedals but they play great. Thank you so much for your comment. I like to play just guitar to make a whole band sound? I was showing how to play good slow blues at my Berklee class. It was a fun to teach. Less information and more emotion. More chord sound.

    Thanks again.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I used to listen to Marlena Shaw
(David T Walker, Carlton...) tasty sweet fills.

    Thanks,

    Tomo-

That was really beautiful. You have such a delicate touch and good sense of melody. Very inspiring!

    All the best,

    Steve

PS - I love that 335! I call first dibbs if you ever try to sell it.
