1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

Played one of these and i was blown away! Wow!

It's vintage distressed look is okay at best, but the pickups and the ohhhh sooo buttery and worn in neck knocked my socks off. It's only $200 used!

Argh! To buy or not to buy?

I technically do NOT need another Strat. I can fly back to Los Angeles and bring one of my 3 strats to NYC, but damn this thing amazed me. I hate impulse purchases or having too many guitars, but I also hate "the one that got away" lol.

    Pro's
    Buttery and sweet.
    Bridge HB means its versatile
    Amazing playability
    Low Price!

    Cons
Who needs another Strat? Save the money
    I am a Fender snob
Bridge HB - I prefer the traditional Strat set up 80% of the time
The distressed look is kinda cheesy (looks like a Rory)

What do you think of these? Would you buy it? (I wanted a TGP opinion since you are all gear whores lol)

Buy it - if it feels right for that money - you can always refinish the body

I'm not an ESP/LTD guy, I'm not crazy about the ESP/LED relic work, I prefer S/S/S/ Strats but you know what I think!

For $200, you should be able to flip it for the same amount or close if you decide you don't want to keep it.
    No brainer IMO.

If you like it, get it, and grab a can of Krylon on the way home. Finish looks cheezy, and I'm okay with relics.

After you've played enough guitars, you know what works for you when you play it.

If this is a winner, I say buy it and don't look back.

I picked one up when they first came out. Since then the mods have included sparkle gold paint, black guard, black knobs , a DiMarzio PAF + with series parallel installed, covers removed on singles and upgraded pots. These are so ugly out of the box they almost beg to be customized and I like how slim the neck is. Really fun guitar to mod out.

I bought one awhile back. The finish turned me off but the rest of the guitar was great. Awesome slim U-shaped neck. For $200, that's a no brainer. It would be like renting the guitar free for 12 months if you decide a year from now to sell it.

I sold mine for $250 on ebay a few months ago. It sold quickly, yours seems like a good deal.
