Ive got an Eternity that I really like, but would like some opinions. What pedal would be like the E but with a little more growl and throatiness. The E is a little more treble than I would like.Overall I think its a great pedal, but not perfect for my sound.Thanks.

Are you looking for more gain as well as less treble?
If so, maybe a Skreddy Screw Driver or BJF Dyna Red?

Maybe try a different OpAmp in the Eternity? It can be bright, I've got the treble (boost) set only at 9 o'clock...

I believe Sean does a 'meatier' version as a custom option...

+1 on experimenting with different chips in it. You can really alter it for mere pennies. Check out a TL072ACN for starters.

Yeah man, I like a fairly bright tone (ala Matchless/Marshall type) and I have to boost the treble a little bit on the E to make it right for me (10 oclock). Can be a fairly dark pedal and IMO has plenty of "bark".

The E becomes "right" to me when the treble boost is set beetween noon/one o'clock

I agree that the E has bark but when I try to equate 'gravel' to sound I think Rat or Crunch Box. I also agree that the Eternity starts quite dark with the treble boost turned down.

E's are pretty different from pedal to pedal. On mine with the stock chip, the tone knob maxes out at around 2:30 and I have mine at 1. Any less and the sucker is too dark. My friend just bought one and his is polar opposite. He can't get his tone knob past 10. Mine is a few years old, and a burst model, while his is a new white one so maybe theres differences in that ?

Mine has a killer growl that no other pedal has ... even better than my Rat because of it's transparency and musicality

Mine is a 2006 burst model, and all the knobs also max out at around 3 o'clock

I agree with Last Nerve that the ZenDrive has more low end growl than the Eternity.
