The H3000 is a different platform, born several years before Vsig/4000; so total incompatibility there.
Eclipse... isn't open to Vsig by choice. You get the bigger Eventides if Vsig is wanted.

Could the factory plug-in be tweaked to talk to a 3000 and allow preset creation/manipulation? How do you store presets outside of the unit or how do you upload presets into the unit?

The factory plugin and the real H3000 do not share a thing.... just the name.
For presets in and out, just like any MIDI device, you can use MIDi SysEx.

Those three presets you mentioned are only in Dsp4*00 series. I can't find 'em in my 7500 nor are listed in h8000 preset manual...

It's possible that some of the 4000 presets were not ported to the later units. Most of them were... and in a better form.

I bought this almost 10 years ago with the intent to run it. I have all the upgrades but haven't installed them yet.
I just need a little advice for the best way to set this up for a guitar rack.

I have the exact same one and the easiest device you'd have to buy would be a rane SM26 or you can get a one of these and give it a go...

That would not be the commonest failure mode. That seems to mostly be the contacts getting dirty. Clean both ends of the ribbon cable and their sockets with contact cleaner. Gently pull the Eproms and clean their contacts and sockets. Put it back together... It seems to me that I have to do this about every 2-3 years to keep things going well!

    Sorry to hear that, JB.
It may well be a problem in the power section or the motherboard needs to have some soldering renewed.
Also... deoxit on the motherboard power connector. Or simply remove and reseat it (the power supply connector on the motherboard) several times (like 5 - 10 times).

Careful with pre_made cables as the H3000 doesn't use the common pin-out scheme as most cables are wired to.
Check the manual. Usually one needs to make his own cables or talk to a tech and have them done following the specs...

Yes I had heard something about this some time ago, I may be wrong but I believe it's two that have to be swapped from one to the other.
