Ever Have A Tone That Was Too Sweet?

As in, you had too many sweeteners? I have an amazing clean to light/medium overdrive sound coming from a VHT Special 6 Ultra. For the price, I never expected such a great tone out of it, but there it is, especially loud, of course.

The culprits that are helping it be sweet:

VFE White Horse compressor
PCE Aluminum Falcon 2
TCE Gravy Chorus/ Vibrato (subtle usage, mostly)

...and in the fx loop...

My cheap-o Behringer EQ700, clone of a Boss GE-7
And (don't groan at once -- spread it out some) BBE Sonic Stomp.

I got the BBE SS over the weekend, and it does exactly what I expected on my rig that I've heard on others'. And my tone is suhweet without it, so it's neither a culprit, the issue or the point.

But I'm still thinking seriously about adding a Bearfoot Sea Blue EQ and another light to medium overdrive. My sound right now is "Tony the Tiger Gurrrrreeeaaattt!!!"

I just wonder if anyone felt they ever went too far over the edge, or if there is too much of a good thing?

And no, very seldom are those 5 on all together. And no, the Sonic Stomp isn't an always-on pedal, either.

And it's ok if this is the dumbest thread in TGP history.

The fundamentals are 1) It's my first pedal board; 2) it's my first god-like sound on any level; 3) I'm pretty sure I'll put a Sea Blue EQ at the end of the drive chain.
