he's playing at a very small bar/club tomorrow night in my town

I never listened to widespread but just from his online guitar lessons you can tell he is an amazing musician. Normally it would be a no brainer to go but this is my first weekend off from shows in several weeks..kind of on the fence about leaving the house.

I've seen him with the Dead and Phil Lesh & Friends, but never solo. He is a mind-blowing guitarist...

It'd be a whole lot cooler if you did.

I've seen him play with tons of different lineups of people, and one thing was constant throughout each and every performance, JIMMY F&%$NG HERRING!!! That dude will excite every molecule of your body. You'll walk out of that show knowing you made the right call by going.

Definitely go! A bandmate in one of my projects opens that particular show. Herring's drummer , Jeff Sipe, is a fantastic drummer and good friend. Those guys wow me everytime.

Really tasty player with just a great feel and killer chops.

The one time I saw Jimmy live was with the ABB after Dickey split
which suprizingly was not a good fit. He seemed a bit constrained, as if playing ABB material
Had him in too much of a box.

Saw him at Wanee with Widespread couple of years back. I'm not a Widespread fan, but Herring was SCARY, AWESOME! Then he came out with the Allmans, and I got to see him trading with Derrick and Warren...again SCARY, AWESOME.

I would love to see him in a small club, GO!

actually my friend kept saying something about victor wooten being with him but that just sounds too good to be true.

* yeah i checked the website and no mention of wooten being there. not sure why he would be either

He's extremely skilled. I've only seen him once in concert, but I've met him a couple of times and listened to him trying out guitars and amps here in Atlanta shops.

Nice enough guy, you can tell a significant part of his life always has been, and probably always will be, all things guitar.

Seen him twice, once with a jam group including Derek Trucks and once with Widespread. Would love to see him with his own group though.

i have seen him with the ABB, Phil and Friends and many times with WSP. He is worth seeing pretty much no matter who he is playing with.
Particularly memorable was him, Warren and Derek jamming together...

I saw him the Allman Brothers at Great Woods and with Phil Lesh in Burlington. Get off the fence; you will not regret it!

He's playing Atlanta on Saturday night and I'm pretty sure Derek is sitting in. He plays a co-headlining tour with Vic Wooten starting in November.
