    Any updates on it yet?!?!
A Summer NAMM "unveiling" would be killlller!!!
I'm hoping for legit early VH tones. I loved my 5150iii 50 watt for about everything but earlyVH tones lol. Had a Mesa Stilleto Ace that did it better, a 50 watt Phaez that did it better....hell, my Vox AC15C1X does a great job!
I'm hoping it's not just different tubes......
Superlead style head box with just the badge on it, lower gained blue channel and a red channel that gets almost the same high gain level as the current version. Less cocked-wah tone, chewier, EL34 tones. No green channel needed.
This is what I'm hoping for.

Try it up against a Suhr SL-68 and Reeves Super 78 and Friedman BE100

    I know what you mean.....
I could buy a used motorcycle with the price difference though hahaha!
If money was no issue, yes...BE100 is THE amp.

I was thinking about this one the other day - probably waiting for either Summer 2016 or Winter NAMM 2017.
Wonder if there will be some MUSICAL MATERIAL release to coincide? Kinda hard to push yet another amp, but I guess that hasn't stopped him before.

I'm aware Eddie tested it on the recent tour - there are some clips like this

Clean and blue channels, with no volume jump would be cool!

I love my 5153 Stealth, but I'm sticking with Marshall for EL-34 stuff. Lots of very reasonably prices options.

Don't have your hopes up, it will most likely be a 5150 III 100w variant, same layout, just with EL34's and tweaked a bit.

If you want early VH tones, get a Suhr SL68.

Ya know, I've been thinking about trying one out again. I remember testing one briefly with "bedroom ears". If that makes any sense. I had just gotten back to playing after taking a handful of years off....anything remotely bright sounding to my ears sent me running. I remember thinking it was harsh, too bright, etc.
Now after my ears are less sensitive and better adjusted....I'm sure I'd appreciate how the amp cuts, the gain range, and the versatility. I gotta like the overall tone and feel though. I had a dsl 50 and I found it constantly mid heavy...I wanted to love that amp.

    Peavey 6534+?
Never played one, but the YouTube clips sound pretty good. Wish my 6505+ had the option of switching tubes.

That's exactly what it is. It's the red badged head in his rack. There's pics out there.

There are a million Plexi clones out there that do early VH. I kind of understand from a fan perspective why the OP would want an EVH version.
Its hard to believe the amount of amps out there designed to primarily do that tone. Probably the most iconic guitar sound ever.

And the thing that's funny, it's the "Engineered Tone" that most people think is "The EVH Tone?" live Ed's tone is very Treble-like so-so mids (unless EQ change at the board), but "his talent and style is without question" (with all respect).
Myself I love the Plexi High-Gain tone of EL34 power tubes, but either of these can do pretty well.
