I’m liking the prominently placed variacs.

    Oh man.
On display for nearly 6 months.
    I'm only 4 hours away.
Yeah, I'm gonna go see this.
It'll probably be my only chance to see the Plexi and original Franky in person.

Is it just me? This is weird. Like having an exhibit for Rembrandt's palette and brushes.

I went and saw it this weekend. I'm not super into the whole "guitar hero" thing, but the exhibit was really nice and reminded me why I picked up the instrument in the first place.

The word iconic is often overused but in this case, I'd say it fits. That display represents an entire generation of guitar.

I would nearly make the trek just to be in the room with Frankenstein and Page's #1 (plus all the other stuff I don't know about yet). Those are the tools of my early heroes.

One thing mentioned in that article is that it's a modified Gibson PAF. It doesn't explain what about it is modified. Perhaps it was just potted. That may have been the guitar he used mostly on the Fair Warning tour that I saw. The cabs on that tour had been stripped showing the speaker but they had a black and white look and there was a huge amount of them on both sides of the stage. I saw a photo from what was likely an early tour where Eddie is playing a Les Paul and he is using a metal chain as a guitar strap. That must have hurt after a while.

Saw it. 4 rigs all back to back. EVH, Page, Keith, Morello.

    Very, very awesome.

Jimmy Page has really rogered up his collection. The Met has damn near everything!

Really, a phenomenal, historic collection all the way around. I'd love the opportunity to visit.

I'd need to see the tag board with Rosemary's signature and the serial # to believe it's the real head. And I'm not sure the guitar is not one of the Chip Ellis-built Fenders either. But I still may make it out to see this when I visit my folks in NJ next.

    Evidently, it is the original.

But you also get Page’s rig and Keef’s Micawber.
If you’re in Jersey, how could you not?
