Im thinking about ordering an 18 footer. Is it really worth the money? Is this cable as great as it's made out to be?

The HG is a good sounding cable, but I think the VOVOX is a better sounding one. It is much easier to deal with and seems to be rock solid.

I have both the Lyric and Lyric HG.

I have been through my share of high end cables and I am not going to cap on other peoples choices.

Just go buy it, you will not be sorry.

    Interesting...

I am interested in the Vovox cables. I cannot seem to find them on the internet for sale at a dealer. I can only find the manufacturers website.

    Any ideas?

Great cables. I have two 20' Lyric HG's and two EA Siren speaker cables, also well worth the money.

Vovox, Lyric, Cardas, VDH....and some proprietary stuff.

Dedication to quality and service. Great people to do business with.

Trust me...get the Vovox and you'll want to redo your whole rig with it. I bought a 10' Vovox just to try out and now I'm planning to do my whole pedalboard with it. Also have Ben Fargen wiring up my new Mini-Plex combo with Vovox as well.

I echo with Bleeding Edge - the damn thing a year later coils unbelievably, it's hard to get mad at a cable, but this thing is frustrating as all get up!!!

Regarding tone, I will spare no expense within reason in trying to improve my tone. I had been using an old store brand cable when I read several threads on TGP about what a difference a high quality cord can make. Now it may be just my situation, my rig, my guitar, who knows, but I could tell no difference whatsoever in tonal quality, and I believe I have one picky ear (and have been told so by bandmates). Now I see the comments about the Vovox stuff, and it has me wondering.....

Lastly, I bought through Lava Cables, and I recommend them 100% with first class service.

What do you consider high failure rate? Are the solder joints failing?

Huge fan of Evidence Audio cables here... The Lyric HG do tend to be stiff... EA makes a more pliable cable called the Melody... Good stuff...

Another yes vote. I've got one 15' Lyric HG, a BUNCH of Melody cables (various lenghts and pedal board), and a Siren speaker cable. Love the Evidence stuff. Buy from Lava.

Yes, some higher end cables are stiffer and fight you. Actually the Lyric HG is less stiff than my Tara Labs Spectrum. I specifically purchased a couple of Evidence Melody cables because of the stiffness of my Tara. The stiffness is just something you get used too.

BTW I use the Tara Labs as my live cable (12 foot) and the Melody as my home cable cause I don't like fighting the stiffness of the Tara when sitting down and jamming at home.

I would highly recommend either the Melody or Lyric HG from Lavacable. You shouldn't have any construction problems from Mark (lavacable).

Has anyone played the Lava brand cables? I am also interested in the Lave tweed that he makes. How do these rate compared to the Evidence or the vovox?

forgot to mention i used the Melody cables. I do find the coiling a bit annoying, but I exercised the cables and they did loosen up somewhat after a while. Had them for over a year now with no issues.
