    Hey everybody

    A though just struck me;

Is it not amassing how an instrument gets chanced in simple and complicated ways through the years? Much like we humans do.

I have 2 very different instruments. Both have chanced though the years.

My acoustic has changed in only very little ways, like the worn down nitro finish at the fretboard´s edge (impossible to get a picture of).

My electric on the other hand has gone through full body tattoo’s and face-lifting to something that’s only remotely what it was at the beginning.
It started as this, and through 4 major changes “ended” as the other…

How did your instrument change through time?

I have a tele that has been around for about 7 years now. it started out as a normal AVRI 62 custom tele and put glendale saddles on it. [IMG]
then I changed the neck put a black guard on it rs wiring kit and but a humbucker in the neck.

then i wanted to change it up again. I cut the ashtray in half and put in tv jones classic plus and classic set in. This guitar went from my least favorite to my number 1! Im playing it right now actually.

    Mine started out like this:

    And has turned into this:

I guess I go for slightly less subtle mods...

Apparently I also upgraded from wood floor to reliced back deck over the years.

the only things original are the bridge pickup, tuners, tree, knobs, control plate and switch tip.

I wish I had some pictures of the evolution but, this guitar:

was my first good electric. A Warmoth build circa 1988, mahogany and maple. It started with a PRS HFS in bridge and a PAF in the neck.. then two PAFs, then a Super Distortion and PAF, the a P-94 and a PAF, then two P-94s, etc. etc. until finally, the longest lasting combo... a P-94 in bridge and a random Strat-style out of the parts drawer... no idea what wither from Harmony, an American strat or from Mighty Mite.

Thanks for sharing! Cool things… keep them coming :)

Switches are coil split (for N and B), phase (N/B), series (N/B), blower switch (B bypass direct out) + master volume, tone (for N and B) and a reverse tone (bass-roll off).

Together with the bigsby this guitar is pretty loaded I thing, but it works great!!!

You forgot to mention the switch that opens up the garage door.

A couple of mine have underone huge transformations. My #1 is pretty stable, but my #2 looked like this when I got it:

    And now looks like this:

Refinished the body, Warmoth neck with Tru Oil rather than the stock poly finished neck, Fender CS54s in place of the Tex Mex H/S/S set... replaced the MIM-spaced trem with an American-spaced unit replaced the Graphtech saddles with bent, folded types and replaced the white pickguard with a mint.

This one is an amalgamation of two 80s MIJ strats, but is mostly the aged white one. Had it refinished locally with the Monterey Pop Festival look and put a lefty neck on it. Went from Dimarzio Areas to CS69s.
