Got tickets to the LA show November 2nd, Greek, 12th row. Can't wait. Taking my grandson's, they are Hendrix fans.

I attended the show last year in DC. Very inconsistent. Not a good showing by Mitch Mitchell or Billy Cox. Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon were the superior rhythm section for the evening. Buddy was hot, Kenny Wayne hot and several other great players but completely unrehearsed and loose.

I only hope they have their act together for this years outing...

I'll be headed to the Louisville, KY show on the 27th..........

I'm still optimistic regardless of the negative reviews- Anyone have any idea exactly who will be at which shows???

I saw the opening night in Hampton Beach the other night. Got a chance to say hi to EJ both before and after but it was a madhouse with all those different acts.

Good show. EJ was the highlight for me, along with getting to see Hubert Sumlin in person. It was loud as hell. Bring earplugs!

It was kinda strange to have a Hendrix tribute sponsored by Gibson. There was one Les Paul in evidence, and an EBMM (think it was a Steve Morse model) played by Buddy Guy's rhythm guitarist, but other than that Strats ruled the night.

I'm flying out of L-ville on the 26th. Was thinking of changing my flight so I could see that show too but I guess I wasn't so over-the-top about the show that I want to do that now. Plus I went and scheduled a band rehearsal in NH for that night...

Saw it last night from the 8th row.

    Impressions:

Eric Gales smokes, though his sound (the only LP at this Gibson-sponsored event) was a bit muddy.

Whoever played second (not sure of the name) played a great Little Wing with fantastic tone.

Eric Johnson: Songs were great. Tone was very good. Best songs of the night were his versions of Axis BAL and Are You Experienced?

Brad Whitford and Johnny Lang played together. Lang played an Esquire and his tone was very thin. Whitford had a ballcap on and looked like he just got off work repairing tractors. Never really saw his face. Played a two-tone Strat and tone was pretty good.

KWS: Had the best/most inspired performance of the night. He owned the stage and really played well.

Buddy Guy: Tone was terrible. Really. Did some good playing but the sound made it hard to enjoy.

Hubert Sumlin: Well . . . . he's old, so he has that going for him.

There was more stuff being played, but I'm forgetting little things. All in all a VERY enjoyble night with the ONLY disappointment being Guy's tone.

Well, at least you'll have a guitar in hand!!! I'll just have one of these in hand :BEER Me and a buddy are driving down from Ohio- about a 2 1/2 hour trip, so hopefully it will be worth it, even though I work the next day

I'm out on the tour with Whitford (photos coming soon).

Little Wing is Mato Nanji from Indigenous. A great player and a nice guy.

Hubert rules, plugged straight into a Deluxe Reverb reissue.

The highlight for me is 'Red House' with Buddy and Brad trading licks, and of course EJ ;)
