    hi all

i love burt's 2x12 cabinets. now i'm thinking of buying an antique pine, straight front, 4x12 cabinet.

has anyone ever played one of his 4x12's? just looking for feedback.
they're probably amazing but i haven't found any threads about that particular model on gearpage.

i'd be grateful for any input about them.

    thanks everyone.

I lived in Pensacola for several years, and I met Bob a few times at Blues Angel. I don't know that I can give any first hand opinions about the sound of his cabinets, but I've heard nothing but the best about them. I do know, however, that the build quality is second to none. If I remember correctly, Bob built cabinets for quite a while for John Landgraff's amps, if that says anything about his workmanship. Wish I had more experience playing through Bob's cabinets, but I could almost blindly guarantee that you wouldn't be let down.

My only concerns with a pine 4x12 would be that pine resonates so much that it may be overwhelming in a 4x12 due to the size of the panels, and that pine is a lot softer than birch or ply and you would have to be super careful with it to prevent damage.

I only have experience with a pine 2x12 that sounded fantastic.
