    Hey, everyone.

Long time lurker, infrequent poster. :)

Anyone who own a Fuchs have pics of the inside of his amps? I'm curious about construction, esp. compared to Dumble.

They look absolutely nothing alike. Furthermore, aside from the front panel cosmetics, the Fuchs by far has the least in common with a Dumble, construction wise and power supply wise than any of the other "clones" such as Two Rock, Bruno, and GDS. Skrydstrup fwiw is PCB like Fuchs.

Troll or not, there is your answer.

Aren't at least a few of these 'gooped'?

Check the Seattle Tonefest thread on the last page for some commentary of how a Fuchs SLX compared to one of the big competitors. The amp has been tuned to take the differences into account and still wind up with a singing organic tone. PCB is not bad.

My friend told me today that Dumble sprays some sort of resin or black spray over all of the circuitry so nobody can see what he's done.

Wayne, I am not aware of any gooped competitors. Many Dumbles are. As are old Fuchs mods. But as for current amps, I don't think any are.

I have to say, I just visited the link in your sig. You really make that Fuchs sing! Phenomenal playing, phrasing and tone.

Pffft. Why is it that your 'scrappy' playing sounds so much better than me on my best day ??? :D

P.S. - Two things, I ran into Art Gerstenfeld, told me to tell you he said "hi", and how are your youngsters?

Being a Guitar.commie, I've heard Scott's playing for the last 2.5+ years... 1) he, with ease (and what he calls his "scrappy playing") is better than pretty much everyone I've heard, and 2) he gets the SWEETEST tones out of that Fuchs (KWS gets sweet tones with his, too).

As always, AWESOME clip!! I've been meaning to ask you, what do you use to record your clips? The quality is always excellent. What is your recording set up?

    Thanks
