Wowee, look at me I play guitar!
barf...I never understood who these appeal to.
boy, thanks for telling us what's what. you sure set us straight all right
possibly has to do more with the fact that gibson sells overly priced knickknacks and chachkees and doesn't put profit where it COUNTS; towards higher qc in their production guitars.
i don't think the adequate level of workmanship that goes into the custom shop line is enough to justify the DEFECIT in quality control that is found across the board in their production guitars.
one does not need to play a high ticket gibson cs to understand exactly how terribly made production gibson guitars are.
it's a very specific demographic of male that happens to be a perfect storm of the following components - age (late 40's to mid to late 50's), lack of a sense of taste or style, and in the midst of a mid-life crisis.
I'm amazed that it took until the 4th page of the thread for the parrots to come out. Wait wait, we need the ubiquitous "yes, but if you play a hundred of them you'll find one or two that speak to you..." post. Then we'll truly know that we're in a Gibson thread. Although it was initially about the stupid shirts.
I think the shirts suck beyond belief and wouldn't wear them if they paid me $100. On the other hand I love the guitars.
5 days into your TGP membership and you're bashing. I suppose you're a PRS guy?
All I'm trying to say is that those that think the guitar...oh, hell nevermind.
The thing is though, there are plenty other guitars that are just as painstakingly produced, if not more, for less money.
Yep, that was my first thought as well.
As usual all those folks complaining about Gibson t-shirt prices are those who can't afford one and have never experienced the quality of the Gibson vintage reissue custom shop shirt lifestyle experience in their sad and miserable lives.
parrot? pg 4? read the whole thread.
wow, and I thought there guitars were over priced
That T shirt comes with a free PAF doesn't it??
What they said.
Yours was the first post about the quality of Gibson guitars in the thread. I realize this is a required post in any Gibson thread, I'm just surprised it took to the 4th page, that's all.
Why do I have a feeling these shirts only come in XL, XXL and XXXL?
Why is the "Blues" is shirt $3.75 more than the "country" shirt?
Because more rich guys play blues.
