I want to sell this guitar to a good friend.
It has been my number #1 for many years, but I play other guitars right now.
My friend really love this guitar.

It's a '76 Telecaster, natural with original case.
Non-original parts include pickguard, one pot (original in the case), pro refret, and the pickups are Fralins but the originals are in the case in great working condition.

What would be a fair price for both of us?

There are a couple Tele's listed on eBay at the moment with BIN's or starting prices around $2,500, if that helps. I would think it would be worth at least $1,500 - $2,000.

I saw a '76 tele at a store in better condition and I think everything original for 2K... I would suggest ~1500 if it is a really good friend or as a minimum and go from there...

    hey Patch -

I would say probably $1500 would be a "bro-deal". Ebay MAY fetch a bit more but natural finish 70s tele generally fetch the least. ( A blonde would bring quite a bit more , for instance )

keep in mind - the knobs alone would bring $150 - the bridge about $350-400 , the pickups about $400 , the neck about $600-700

I dont think you should part it out - but that's why it happens - if you're buddy will keep it together and give you $1500 - thats fair to both parties
