I'm really interested in trying out a vibe pedal, but I'm not wanting to dish out a whole lot of cash (if so I'd prolly go with a KR Mega Vibe or the Fulltone Mini Deja). What's a fairly cheap vibe pedal out there that can reasonably compete with either of the aforementioned? Thanks in advance!

Are those Dano pedals known to be bad for tone suck or anything like that? Forgive me if that's a stupid question, but I'm just really unfamiliar with them.

The Lovepedal one is very good. They show up on Ebay for around 125 from time to time. The circuit isn't the authentic one but it's very musical and convincing.

I've seen those in the emporium a couple of times and wished I had the cash to pick one up because they look like they'd be worth a shot. I'll definitely keep that one in mind, thank you!

Not a stupid question at all...the older Danos were sometimes said to be tone suckers. The new cool cat line are apparently all true bypass...and seem to be built better. Kind of like they listened to all the complaints and designed something in response.

The new Dano vibe has a significant volume boost. The old Dano Chicken Salad is nice if you're OK with the plastic box.

The BBE Soul Vibe and Moen Shaky Jimi are the other cheap but decent options out there right now.

Another vote for Moen Shaky Jimi - Does a really decent vibe sound and also has a Chorus setting which does a very nice Leslie sim. Costs around $50 US on eBay last time I looked.

Don't count out the new Dano pedal.

It is true bypass and built like a tank. More importantly, it sounds great.

I own several vibes including the Fulltone and Tone Freak (my overall fave), but for the $$$$ you cannot beat the Dano.

The more I hear about the Dano, the more I want to try it out in my chain and see how it sounds. Does it stack well with other pedals, or just get lost in the mix? (if that's a characteristic of any vibe, sorry for the stupid question, I just have little experience with vibes) This might be a longshot, but have you seen the new John Mayer dvd? The vibe sound he gets on there is the sort of vibe sound I would want. I dig Michael Landau's vibe tone as well, but for all I know it might not be a vibe at all and that's just what it sounds like to my untrained ears lol.

Thanks a lot for all of your suggestions and input guys, it's greatly appreciated!!!

I like the Lovepedal Magic Boy and the Sweet Sound Mofaux.

How much do either of those run?

I think the slight volume boost is the reason it does not get lost in the mix. Defintely worth a trip to GC to check out.

BTW, Landau is using a Arion SCH for his vibe tones.

My local GC is about, 4+ hours away lol. I don't know if the music store closest to me carries any Dano pedals, but I'll have to check next time I'm there. I appreciate it, man!
