1. During the first week of August 2020, we'll be upgrading the software TGP runs on to the currently available up-to-date version. The software version is a significant upgrade, so there will be some downtime as we do the work under the hood. We've got a team of professionals, including the software development company assisting the process. We've conducted substantial tests using backups of the current forum to ensure a smooth and successful upgrade. We've gone to great lengths on the design of the theme (aka 'skin' or look and feel) of the forum to offer a better user experience for members and visitors. The default theme will be new, yet clearly influenced by the classic TGP look. We will have a dark version of that also easily selectable. Also available will be a "Classic TGP" theme that closely matches the current theme you are accustomed to using with the current software. There is also an easy width adjustment to make it set width or expand to your window width for each theme. As we get closer, I'll update everyone so hopefully, no one will be caught by surprise.

Jerry Garcia played one guitar, unless doing an acoustic set. Sure he's known fo . 335, Strat, T. Bean and some customs but during any period he pretty much only used 1 and fans of Jerry know them all by name.

Regarding Brian May: I know for a fact he only owns a handful, and really only plays 2. My drummer at one time was close with the bassist in Queen, and the bassist asked Brian..."How many you have?" And Brian said just a few. I know I have Tele somehwere...but the house is so big I havent seen it in ages.
So apparently it's "The Red Special" for him, and likely one or 2 knockoffs given to him (used just as spares).
I think its really cool that he made that with his Dad..and has committed himself to it. He gets everything he needs out of it. I heard an audio recording he made some years before Queen happened for him...its definetly the Red Special, to my ears (playing "Purple Haze").

Danny Gatton primarily played his tele - he did have a Les Paul and a ES-350 but it was all about his tele.

Pat has gone through a number of completely different guitars over the years, from an L-5CES to an L-5S to a Gibson Pat Martino to a Benedetto Pat Martino.

Wes used at least six different L-5 guitars.

Rory is obviously widely known for his #1 Strat, but he owned and played many other guitars.

All of Skynyrd guys used two or less at a time.

    Early Allen Collins: Firebird mostly.
Post Ed King Allen: Strat and Firebird.
    After Steve joined Allen: Explorer

Gary Rossington: 59 burst and 61 SG for freebird.

Ed King: Strat and an SG I think...or was it a Les Paul?

Steve Gaines: Strat and a Les Paul Custom.
