I salute Greg Lake, hero of the great progressive music and beauty.
King Crimson and Emerson. Lake & Palmer.
A time that will never be the same again...

Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear, oh clouds unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!

I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand
    Til we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land

One of my very favorite bands from my childhood! Trilogy, especially.

I was a pretty big prog rock guy. I loved ELP even as a guitar player it was just stunning work. I was describing it to my wife, how is younger than I and had never listened to it. I said it was not something one would dance to but rather sit and listen to it. Which was what most prog rock was about.
I never saw him live. I did have the pleasure of seeing King Crimson live on the Larks tongue tour. Greg was long gone by then. What a voice, and a fine bassist too.

I don't know if it was the way he was recorded and doubled, but he seemed to have a voice bigger than a human body should contain.
