What's a reasonable time to expect to wait for your food in the morning? Let's say, for the sake of discussion, it's Saturday morning. Not peak time, but there are 5 cars

Depends on how many big orders in the cars ahead of you . There's a Chinese drive thru here that knocks them out in less than five minutes, cooked to order.

So I'd guess five per car.

Seems like at least once a week I get behind somebody in the drive-thru that orders for everybody in the office- multiple orders, misunderstandings over the speaker, etc.

Go inside, for the love of all that is good!

If you're at Chick-Fil-A, expect about 20 minutes to get through those cars. ;)

But man, those chicken-minis are totally worth it. Soooo good.

That's wonderful. I'm sure McDonalds is filing for bankruptcy right now because of you.

No **** Sherlock, er, that'a a very astute observation, Peppy...

You threw in a curveball with Saturday morning. On Saturday mornings I usually expect the cars in front of me grabbing breakfast for more than just themselves. They could be getting breakfast for their families or co-workers who also had to come in on Saturday.

Reasonable wait time on Saturday morning with 5 cars ahead, 10-14 minutes. I wouldn't be aggravated if it took 20.

20 minutes? You could go to a sit down diner, order and be eating in less time than that. With the prices that fast food places are charging these days, you'd probably save money and get a better meal too...

Good point. On a Saturday morning, you could be waiting for a table for 45 minutes at some of the more popular places around here...

I mostly cut it out except for the occasional burger.

I worry when I order, drive around the corner, and the food is already bagged...

10 minutes give or take. depends on the restaurant i suppose. Dunkin Donuts would probably be more like 2 or 3 minutes

I bet they can correctly choose which homonym of "hole" to use in that so-called "sentence" of yours.

I don't understand why people will sit in their idling cars, burning gas and polluting, for 15 plus minutes. I just walk inside, it's usually faster.

In Russia, they wait 20 minutes for a loaf of bread.

    (Well, they used to.)
