If you have ever set up a pedal board and you have lots a pedals, or you are at a gig and your instrument cable has failed and you need a very quick fix, you have probably thought, "Give me more time to play!" Who wants to spend time making and fixing cables?

Bullet Cable will host the "Faster Than Bullet: SLUG DIY Challenge" at SXSW this year in booth 408 at the Music Gear Expo. Using plugs and cable provided, musicians will have the opportunity to make a solderless custom cable and beat the current fastest time of :28 seconds held by the company. The winner will be named, "The Faster Bullet", have their video featured on YouTube /bulletcablevids and on bulletcable.com, and will win over $439 in Bullet Cable SLUG Connectors and Bulk Cable. Those who take the challenge, but do not win the best time, will be entered into a daily drawing with a chance to win a Bullet Cable 30' Coil Cable.

For the official rules visit the booth or view them beforehand online at bulletcable.com/slug-challenge

In 2011 Bullet Cable made a video that showed that a fast, reliable, working solderless cable could be made in less than a minute using the Bullet SLUG DIY Connector and Bulk Cable. Soon after, they received a video comment on YouTube by someone who challenged them to a solderless cable duel by beating :48 seconds by 7 seconds. Bullet Cable took the challenge and made a custom solderless cable in :28 seconds and then immediately plugged it into an amp and played guitar with it showing that it would work.

Liz Murphy from Arllington VA - never made a cable before just learning how to play guitar. Made cable in 37.8 seconds. Played it. Perfect connection!
